At first it was the artists later the tourists who were attracted by Sæby’s beautiful nature and its idyllic scenery. The museum has an exhibition about the early tourism showing a room in a boarding-house from WW1. At that time the tourists sought Sæbygård’s shady and romantic beech forest more than they sought the beach.
In addition you will have the opportunity to study the collections in the museum treasury. Here there are glasses, porcelain, wood carvings and many other things accompanied with tools from the time where fishing was performed from open dinghies. In the late autumn fishing was done with trays and hooked lines.
