Enter a world of living cultural history at the Coastal Museum Bangsbo situated in the old picturesque manor house in the middle of the idyllic Bangsbo area.
The Coastal Museum Bangsbo offers a number of fascinating exhibitions taking you on a trip through different periods of Danish history.

Bangsbo as a cultural centre
Did you know that at the start of the 20th century Bangsbo was a dynamic centre for culture and several famous artists – among them Herman Bang – were part of the so-called Bangsbo Circle? This fascinating cultural history plus life in general is presented in the exhibitions by means of authentic items and moving stories about different persons.

The time of the occupation
Delve into a dramatic period of Danish history in a gripping exhibition bringing the challenges and courageous actions from the time of the occupation back to life. The exhibition gives a thorough perspective of the many different aspects of life during the occupation.

The Maritime Exhibition
Have a look at the magnificent Ellingå Ship from 1163 and explore the importance of seafaring through the centuries. This exhibition tells the story of the ship and its role in the maritime world of the Middle Ages. In the exhibition Havets Dyb (the Deep Sea) you will learn about the dramatic history of the coast of North Jutland with many shipwrecks and the marine archaeological work performed by the museum.

All year round the museum offers exciting activities and talks presenting the collections in an engaging way. Whether you a history nerd or just curious there will be lots of things to discover and learn from.
